Dyfi Bike Shed is based in Machynlleth, Mid Wales, just minutes from Dyfi Bike Park. We offer a small fleet of downhill mountain bikes perfect for a day’s riding in the Dyfi.

You can collect your bike from our workshop, conveniently located near the main car park in Machynlleth, or choose our delivery service if you're riding at Dyfi Bike Park.

This service allows you to head straight to the uplift and enjoy your day without having to transport your hire bike yourself.

Our online booking system allows you to hire a bike for up to three days.

Every hire includes:

• A professionally prepared downhill mountain bike
• Pedals (or you're welcome to bring your own)
• A pre-hire safety check
• Basic suspension setup and bike fit

Please note that helmets, riding kit, shoes and other protective equipment are not included with bike hire, so you'll need to bring your own.

Yes, we recommend booking your bike hire in advance, especially during weekends, school holidays and peak riding season. Booking ahead ensures your preferred bike and frame size are available for your chosen dates.

Each bike on our booking system includes a recommended rider height guide to help you choose the correct size. If you're unsure which bike is right for you, get in touch before booking and we'll be happy to help you find the best fit.

Helmets, riding kit and shoes are not included with your bike hire, so please bring your own. Flat pedals are included with every hire, but if you prefer to ride clipless or have a favourite set of pedals, you're welcome to bring your own.

We understand that mountain biking can be tough on equipment. Normal wear and tear is expected, but you'll be responsible for the cost of repairing or replacing any bike components that are damaged through misuse, crashes or negligence during your hire period. Please let us know as soon as possible if the bike is damaged so we can assess it before the next hire.

We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both our customers and our business.

Customer Cancellations

• More than 7 days before your hire date: Full refund or the option to transfer your booking to another available date.
• 3–7 days before your hire date: 50% refund or the option to transfer your booking to another available date.
• Less than 72 hours before your hire date: Unfortunately, no refunds can be given.
• No-shows: If you do not arrive to collect your bike at the agreed time and have not contacted us, your booking will be treated as a no-show and no refund will be issued.

Changes to Your Booking

Where possible, we'll do our best to accommodate changes to your booking date or bike selection, subject to availability. Requests should be made as early as possible.

Weather

Our bikes are designed to be ridden in all weather conditions. We do not offer refunds due to poor weather unless Dyfi Bike Park is officially closed or we are unable to provide your booked bike.

Mechanical Issues

In the unlikely event that your hire bike develops a mechanical fault that is not caused by misuse or accidental damage, we will make every effort to repair or replace the bike as quickly as possible. If we are unable to do so, an appropriate partial or full refund will be offered.

Cancellation by Dyfi Bike Shed

In the rare event that we need to cancel your booking due to circumstances beyond our control, you will be offered either:

• A full refund, or
• The opportunity to transfer your booking to another available date.

Delivery Bookings

Any delivery and collection fees are refundable only if the bike hire booking is cancelled in line with the cancellation policy above.
